TSS Alum & Faculty Betty Buckley Honored with Julie Harris Award for Artistic Achievement

“The 21st Annual Tony Awards Viewing Party, which was held June 11 at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, raised $225,000 for the Actors Fund.

Tony winner Betty Buckley, recently seen in the M. Night Shyamalan film Split, was honored with the Julie Harris Award for Artistic Achievement at the annual celebration, which was hosted by Bryan Batt. Buckley and Batt previously shared the stage in the West Coast debut of Grey Gardens as well as the original Broadway production of Sunset Boulevard.

The event featured red carpet arrivals, a cocktail hour, gala dinner, live performances, a silent auction, and the West Coast’s exclusive live feed of the 2017 Tony Awards broadcast from New York City.”

Our Alumni On Stage



The T. Schreiber Theatre is just three weeks away from opening our Workshop Production of Alpha66, the final show of our 2016-2017 Season. We invite you to learn more about our alumni featured in the show!


The winner our Annual New Works Project competition, Alpha66 is written by Robby Ramos, a graduate of our one-year conservatory.  Most recently he played ‘Cousin Julio’ in T. Schreiber’s production of The Motherfucker with the Hat by Stephen Adly Guirgis. Other recent NY credits include: a reading of Oh Dad, Poor Dad… with Frank Langella (The Roundabout Theatre), Swallow by Aminta de Lara (La MaMa), and Contigo by Paola Lazaro Munoz (Signature Theatre).


Juliana is a fellow graduate of our one-year conservatory, and former classmate with the playwright! She is heading to the Yale School of Drama this fall.  Other theatre credits include: Hamlet in Hamlet at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, Electra (Off-Broadway, Theatre Row) and workshops of For the Love Of (Rattlestick), and Vessey Street (Actors Studio).


Luis is currently studying at the T. Schreiber studio with faculty member Bob Verlaque. He recently moved to NYC from Miami in order to continue his acting career. Luis has been working as an actor for several years, ever since his first play at twelve years old. He has appeared in theatrical production and television shows, mainly in South America and Chicago.

TSS Alum & Faculty at the SoHo International Film Festival

Congratulations to all the TSS ALUMS & FACULTY who took over the SoHo International Film Festival on-screen and behind the camera with short films ‘Danni,’ and ‘Unexpected Company‘ in the Mercer St. Series (Saturday, June 17th at 11a) and ‘The Mustard Seed‘ in the Prince St. Series (Saturday, June 17th at 1:40p) and ‘Caroline Lives Alone‘ in the Grand St Series (Tuesday, June 20th at 5:30p). These films include work by alumnus, faculty members and TSS affiliated artists: Justin Bailey, Belle Caplis, Emily Chastain, Brenda Crawley, Jim Cyborowski, Don Draxler, David Donahue, Peter Jensen,  Kerry Miller, Jamie Neumann, Pat Patterson, Jeana Reilly, Dianne Reilly, Derek Roche, Gina Jones Roche, Wendy Mae Shelton and Jerry Topitzer.

New Class with Peter Jensen: Beginning Meisner, Strasberg & Hagen

Using Meisner, Hagen and Strasberg exercise along with with Peter Jensen’s own processes the beginning actor will learn to work instinctively and freely while building technique in order to feel what it’s like to bring a character and scene to life. This course is perfect for new actors who are eager to be introduced multiple techniques or experienced actors looking to work in the fundamentals of their craft.

Thursdays from 2-4:30pm with Peter Jensen

July 6th – August 24th, 2017 (8 sessions)

Fee- $395 for 8 weeks
