In late 2014, Guy Chachkes and Steven C. Schmidt founded REELARC; a production company geared towards producing cinematic quality scenes for actors in the Tri-state area. Producing hundreds of scenes in their first year in business established them as the leading gold standard in this booming industry. This new class, crafted exclusively for T. Schreiber Studio, brings the first cinematic quality Reel Work class to our actors.
Week 1 – Casting and Script Analysis Primer
Each actor will perform a modern monologue or prepared side that showcases the character they think best represents their “type”. After class, actors will be cast into pairs and the staff writer will begin the process of creating an original scene to show your work at its best. Information will be provided in-class to help each actor approach preparing their script.
Week 2 – Rehearsing and Camera Primer
Actors, still on book, will meet to rehearse their scenes on-camera, receiving coaching from the filmmakers on lenses, thinking like an editor, and on-camera technique so actors are prepared for their shoot.
Week 3 – On-Camera Performance
Guy and Steven will work with you to help craft a better performance, putting your script preparation and camera techniques into practice to prepare you for your time on set.
Week 4 – Shooting
The production team will schedule your shoot during the week following the third class, with 4K production, professional sound and lighting, and all locations scouted and secured. The scene will be fully edited and you will have a professional 60-90 second scene for inclusion in your reel. Specific times on set TBD.
Please submit picture and resume for admittance. Limited enrollment.
