Uta Hagen, Lee Strasberg, and Sanford Meisner were three members of The Group Theater that formed around the early teachings of Stanislavski. Each teacher took their own unique perspective from the Group and began their own approach. They taught in New York from the 1950s-1990s and are three of the most influential acting teachers in contemporary American acting.
