Thank you for your One-Act Play Submissions for The Annual Schreiber Shorts. All Plays are Currently Under Review. 

New voices keep the theater fresh and vital.

That is why, every year, T. Schreiber Studio produces plays by up-and-coming and established playwrights for The Schreiber Shorts, an evening of short plays.

Playwrights are encouraged to engage with this year’s theme “Wake Up!” in any manner they choose. The deadline was February 19th, 2024 and submissions are now closed.

This year’s Schreiber Shorts will be presented at Theatre Row from AUGUST 8 – 11,  2024. Each play will be fully designed and staged, performed by members of our exceptional acting community.

Review and Selection Process:

Each play will be read and evaluated based on artistry and the play’s connection to our theme. Plays that provide meaningful opportunities for our diverse acting community are particularly appreciated. All playwrights will be informed whether or not their play was selected by May 15th.

Please do not contact the studio about the status of your play’s submission. If you contact the studio prior to April 30th, you jeopardize the anonymity of our review process, and we will delete your submission accordingly.
We appreciate your patience as we carefully review each submission.

What to expect if your one-act play is selected:

• A stipend of $75

• 

  A fully staged production at Theatre Row, including direction, professional actors from the studio, and set, costume, and lighting design.

• An invitation to attend two rehearsals to collaborate with your director or make any adjustments to your script.
• Two complimentary tickets to the production and an invitation to our closing night party.
