Both our current Artistic Director and our Founding Artistic Director studied directly with the legendary Uta Hagen. Hagen, a founding member of The Group Theater, along with Stella Adler, Sanford Meisner, and Lee Strasberg, established the foundation for prominent American acting techniques. Here at the studio, we use Hagen’s exercises, along with a variety of other techniques, from the moment students begin studying through to our most advanced classes.
In the Hagen Patron Path, Peter will offer an intimate evening of contemporary scenes with advanced Scene Study students with select seats available for patrons. Remain after the scenes for a Q&A with Peter as he discusses the delicate process of helping an actor take risks to achieve their potential as a storyteller.
Teaching, of course, is its own art form. And while Peter began with Hagen, he’s constantly drawn to different techniques. Lately, Peter has begun incorporating techniques from Russian Acting teacher Nikolai Demidov. Therefore, as part of the Hagen Patron Path, Peter will hold a workshop exclusively for Patrons to explore the work of Demidov and explain how he has woven into his own teaching method.
Becoming a Hagen Patron is about nurturing the creative process. Your gift will contribute to the affordability of our scene study classes. Scene Study is at the core of actor development. It’s essential we keep these classes accessible to working actors as they navigate their careers.
