Scene Study is an actor’s gym - a place for you to hone your craft and keep your skills sharp. It’s an environment for actors to get their reps in, continually tackling new material and gaining confidence in their process. How are you keeping your artistic self in shape?
Considered some of the best scene study classes in New York City, T. Schreiber Studio's courses have a following with award-nominated actors and television series regulars. These scene study classes provide an environment for experienced actors to enhance their ability to act from a deeply personal and freely imaginative place, bringing spontaneity and truthfulness to their work. Tools and exercises will be incorporated with scene work to develop the actor’s instrument and build technique.
These ongoing Scene Study classes meet once a week in-person and are offered in cycles of 4 or 6 weeks. Once you have joined an ongoing class, you may re-enroll to continue developing your work.
INSTRUCTORS
Andrew Dolan has taught at the Stella Adler Studio, The American Conservatory Theater, AMDA, The Freeman Studio and the American Academy of Dramatic Art. Acting credits include American Daughter (Broadway), Strictly Dishonorable (Vineyard), Spoleto Festival, Magic Theatre, Arizona Theatre Company, Handsome Harry, Unstoppable, Partners in Crime, 28 Days, Ash Tuesday, Deal Breakers, Rob Peace, Elementary, House of Cards, Bull, Blue Bloods, Good Wife, The Americans, Person of Interest, Good Cop, The Tick, Blacklist , Your Honor, Chicago Med, Being Human, David Letterman, all Law & Orders, Conviction, Return of Jezebel James, Guiding Light, Crash Life. As a writer, Andrew's plays have been developed and performed at EST West, Road Theatre, Clubbed Thumb, Playwrights Horizons, Barrington Stage, Marin Theatre Company, Mile Square Theatre. Training: Bowdoin College, MFA: American Conservatory Theatre.
Tommy Buck is best known for his work on the Emmy nominated HBO series The Deuce. He has performed principal roles on Gotham, Law & Order: SVU, Ray Donovan and the Emmy Award winning The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Tommy is a graduate of The South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts, The American Academy of Dramatic Arts (AADA), and has worked with renowned coaches and teachers such as Bob Krakower, Jon Shear, Peter Jensen and Terry Schreiber. Some of Tommy's theater credits include Irondale Theater's Shakespeare Sonnets with Ralph Fiennes, T.Schreiber's The Pillowman, La Mama's Die: Roll to Proceed and T.Schreiber Studio’s Innovative Theater Award winning production of Balm in Gilead.
Sally Dunn has been affiliated with the T. Schreiber Studio since 1979. She studied with Terry Schreiber and joined the studio faculty in 1995. She served as the studio’s Managing Director for over 20 years. Ms. Dunn co-starred with Jean Stapleton in The Showoff and has performed major roles in New York at the Roundabout, the York Theatre Company, and Primary Stages. Her regional credits include the Guthrie Theatre, the Kennedy Center, Syracuse Stage, the Asolo Theatre, and the Pittsburgh Public Theatre. She appeared as Rosalind in the PBS production of As You Like It, and her film work includes The Verdict (Sydney Lumet) and Nashville (Robert Altman).
