THE GLORIOUS GLORIA
PENNY JACKSON (Playwright)- is an award-winning playwright and novelist. Her plays have been produced in New York City, Edinburgh and Dublin, and her new play, AND I SAW HER, will be produced this June in The Toronto Fringe Festival. Awards include a MacDowell Fellowship, The Pushcart Prize, and The Elizabeth Janeway award from Barnard College. Penny’s screenplays include an adaptation of her novel, BECOMING THE BUTLERS, published by Bantam Books, which was optioned by Warner Brothers. Her play, I KNOW WHAT BOYS WANT, will be taught at The University of Georgia and is published by Next Stages Press and Indie Theater Now. Lucy Caraballo (Asst. Director/Costume Designer)- is a native of Puerto Rico who recently graduated from CUNY – BMCC where she majored in Theatre. Assistant Directed The Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged) at BMCC Black Box. Assistant Directed DNA (BMCC Black Box) & Hot L Baltimore (The Gloria Maddox Theatre). Costume Design Assistant for The Future Freaks Me Out (BMCC Black Box) & The Fairytale Project (TPAC). Lucy has Costume Designed The Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged) and she has Costume Designed DNA. Lucy is the Assistant Director and is the Costume Designer of Glorious Gloria (The Gloria Maddox Theatre).
DeLong Le (Makeup/Wig designer)- is currently attending BMCC with a major in theater. Outside of school he freelances as a hairstylist and makeup artist for various venues. He was the wig master, assisted in costume, and in makeup for the off off broadway production of The Fairytale Project. Taylor Graves (Eve)- recently played the role of Alma in Tennessee Williams’s Summer and Smoke directed by Terry Schreiber. Other favorite NYC roles include, Bonnie in Bonnie and Clyde produced by Nylon Fusion Theatre Company, Lady Macduff in Macbeth, Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Lauren in the original work Variations On A Cat Call. Taylor has been studying with Terry Schreiber at T. Schreiber Studio for over two years. She studied Shakespeare and Restoration comedy with John Basil at American Globe Theatre. She is thrilled to be working with such a wonderful team in The Glorious Gloria and to be surrounded by such a solid company of artists in this festival. DON CARTER (Gloria)- is delighted to be in this wonderful play. In New York, Don has performed with Ensemble Studio Theatre, Target Margin Theater, Nylon Fusion, The Drilling Company and Blue Coyote Theater Group. Regional theatre credits include the Berkshire Theatre Festival, Virginia Stage Company, Arts Center of Coastal Carolina and The Public Theatre (in Auburn, Maine). Film / TV: Hitting the Ground (Living Pictures), Kingdom Come (Rockville Pictures), The Appointment (NYU), Sid and Mel (NYU), One Life To Live (ABC), As The World Turns (CBS) and Stephen Bittrich’s original web series Off Off.
