Bring Your Vision to Life on Screen
Develop Unique Stories with Assurance
Master the Fundamentals of Screenwriting

Anne Lamot
The screenplay is the foundation of any great film or television show. Filmmaking is a collaborative medium, but the screenplay script is the roadmap for what happens on screen. It all begins with the writer and an idea. That writer could be you!
In this 8-week online course, students will learn the fundamentals of screenwriting: story structure, character development, dialogue, outlining, and formatting. Weekly writing prompts will be given, then read and discussed in class, using a constructive feedback paradigm. In addition, students will read several feature-length and short-length screenplays as a way to strengthen their script-analysis skills. For the final third of the class, students will outline, pitch, write, and revise an original short screenplay. You will leave with the basic tools needed to write for the screen.
