SOMATIC BREATHWORK for the ACTOR
Explore the power of your breath to clear stuck energy, stress, anxiety and tension from your body while releasing old patterns that no longer serve you. Create space to embody new vibration, higher levels of consciousness, creativity, authenticity and self expression. This process is less about traditional technique and more about embodied liberation.

In this music supported experience - through intentional, sustained breathing and integration you will:

• Build greater awareness of internal sensation
• Release habitual tension patterns that interfere with attuned presence, physical and vocal freedom
• Invite the opportunity to support and expand emotional range
• Expand your capacity to stay grounded while accessing deeper levels of intensity
• Reconnect to the body as a source of creative impulse and spontaneous truth

Contraindications: Somatic Breathwork can be powerful and at times emotionally or physically activating. Multiple award-winning Broadway, film & voice actor Jon Orsini, who has been seen on Broadway opposite Nathan Lane in The Nance, Ethan Hawke in Macbeth, Larry David in Fish In The Dark (and featured in our blog), studied directly with our beloved founder Terry Schreiber when he first joined the Studio. He then took on a lead role in the studio’s production of The Fifth of July directed by Peter Jensen. Next Jon appeared in the Off-Broadway production of Banished Children of Eve at the Irish Repertory Theatre, followed by shows at Ars Nova, Signature Theatre, New Group and more. Over his career on stage & screen Jon has also starred opposite the likes of Robert De Niro, Rosie Perez, Keanu Reeves, Julia Garner, John Malkovich & many other remarkable talents.

While making his Broadway debut in The Nance Jon was approached by renowned acting coach Larry Moss, who recommended a breathwork session with practitioner Jesse Torgerson. After a powerful session Jon shifted his approach to acting (and life!) via the liberating power of breathwork. Jon became a Certified Somatic Breathwork Guide who believes that “authenticity is our highest vibration and our breath can set us free.” In addition to his own work, Jon finds fulfillment in helping actors access and express their most authentic, embodied selves through Somatic Breathwork. jonorsini.com
