My name is Raquel Loving and I am the Social Media/ Production Assistant here at T. Schreiber and I am fresh out of my cap and gown after graduating from Sarah Lawrence College in May! Myself and Halle Morse, T. Schreiber’s Producing Director/”Social Media Princess” are going to be writing to you periodically from our dear desktops here in the offices of T. Schreiber. Our goal here is to make this blog a place for discussion, a possible go-to source for helpful advice, and a place that hopefully will keep us all sane in this sometimes (always) exhilarating and terrifying, fulfilling and heartbreaking, disciplined yet crazy world of theatre and film. We hope you come to this blog when you are asking yourself lying in a bed that is in a closet you paid a sweet $2,000 to call a bedroom, “Why am I here? What does it matter? Will it even matter?! What in the world is GOING ON with STRINDBERG?” Welcome!
For now- read this wonderful testimonial from Kara, who graduated last year from the Four Week On-Camera Summer Intensive. (This year’s Intensive starts a week from today, on July 18th!)
My experience with T. Schreiber has been positive and encouraging through and through! They truly want to teach a craft and work toward a creative goal, not just collect students to increase their profits.
I wanted badly to continue studying acting, so I was pumped when I was accepted to their 4-week Summer Intensive! Peter Jensen helped me feel very comfortable during my audition. I am still reeling over my experience! Every instructor we had shared the same passion for the craft and true interest in their students! There’s no “Dream Team” like Peter and Diane Miner, Page Clements, and Miriam Kulick!
Not to mention my classmates–I don’t know if I’ve ever before encountered such initial positive vibes among a group of strangers. It is no surprise that my classmates were just as impassioned and supportive as the people working with us at T. Schreiber; the studio seems to draw like-hearted people.
Each day of the 4-week intensive was eye-opening for me. Every section of the summer intensive influenced me unforgettably; on-camera, voice, and acting techniques.
I was gently challenged to do things that I was scared to try; never before have I felt so comfortable being uncomfortable in front of strangers! Our instructors gently led us to and through our comfort zones each day and I am eternally thankful for that.
Outside of the instruction itself, the studio has fantastic staff that also care about your entire learning experience. They are proactive in contacting us about events and reminders. They are fully committed to providing a complete and comprehensive experience for us, so they insist on regular attendance and prompt arrival so we don’t miss any of the material or assignments. I was running late because of transit problems on the first day of the intensive, and by the time I came out of the subway I had a voicemail message expressing their concern over my lateness or potential absence.
All in all, the classes I’ve taken with T. Schreiber are well worth the sticker price! Don’t let it shock you! You also get out of the classes what you put into it…stay as committed and passionate about the craft and you will appreciate how much T. Schreiber has helped you to grow!Kara G … Alum 2015 Four Week On-Camera Intensive
