Steven Lamont is a multidisciplinary actor, writer, director, and teacher based in New York City. Combining theatre experience with additional background in improv, spoken word, and choreography, Steven brings a wealth of experience to T. Schreiber Studio. They have performed in a variety of classical and contemporary works, including Shakespeare and the world premiere stage production of Treasure Island at Classic Theatre of Maryland, where they played Long John Silver. Most recently, they portrayed Don Pedro in Much Ado About Nothing and King Simonides in Pericles with Hip to Hip Theatre’s Shakespeare in the Park, which celebrates the community spirit of theatre by making professional productions accessible to underserved communities in NYC.
A T. Schreiber alum, Steven Lamont has studied extensively with Peter Jensen, Tommy Buck, and Page Clements. They also trained with Fiasco Theater under Noah Brody, Ben Steinfeld, Devin E. Haqq, and Zack Fine.
Steven invigorates and inspires his students in Beginner Acting Technique at T. Schreiber Studio, where novice actors are invited to cultivate curiosity, spontaneity, and a sense of adventure. Their classes blend foundational practices from Stanislavski, Uta Hagen, and the Method with the Demidov approach—focusing on impulse, behavior, and honest connection over performance.
With a degree in Psychology from Penn State University, Steven brings a thoughtful, grounded approach to the work, with a deep understanding of character and motivation. Their classroom is a space for exploration, where actors are supported in building craft, staying present, and discovering what it means to truly live moment to moment onstage.
