SNAKE

Erik Champney (Playwright)- is an award-winning playwright with works developed, commissioned, and produced in several cities, including New York, Seattle, San Francisco, and Singapore. Selected plays: DEAD BRAINS (Winner, The National AIDS Fund/CFDA-Vogue Initiative Award for Playwriting, The Kennedy Center), SAITAMA (Winner, 8th Biennial Playwriting Contest, Theatre In the Raw, BC), PANGAEA (Commendation for Excellence, The Kennedy Center), CRAB ON ITS BACK (Semi-finalist, Sundance Theatre Lab; Top Ten, The Stanley Drama Award, Wagner College; Finalist, Playwrights’ Week, The Lark), and OMEN ROAD TO STARRVILLE (O’Neill Semi-finalist; Top Ten, The Stanley Drama Award, Wagner College). Erik is a former member of Young Playwrights Inc., where he studied under Wendy Wasserstein and John Weidman, He received a B.A. in both Theatre and English from Centenary College of Louisiana followed by an M.F.A. in Dramatic Writing from NYU Tisch. It is an honor to return to T. Schreiber for the World Premiere of SNAKE.

Joan Kane (Director)- the founding Artistic Director of Ego Actus, recently directed I Know What Boys Want at Theatre Row, Six Characters in Search of an Author in Oslo, Norway and Kafka’s Belinda by Aldo Nicolij in Prague. Safe and what do you mean at 59e59 theaters and in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, each receiving four star reviews. Joan was named to the Indie Theatre Hall of Fame by nytheatre.com. She has directed plays and readings for Lark Play Development Center, Ensemble Studio Theatre, Theater for the New City, Urban Stages, Bleecker St Theater, Workshop Theater, Nylon Fusion, Abingdon Theatre, Oberon Theatre, the Samuel French Short Play Festival, Planet Connections Festivity, Midtown International Festival, Prague Fringe Festival, Dramatists Guild, NY Madness, Players Club, Lambs Club and Actors Studio. She’s been nominated for Outstanding Direction Awards three times each in the MITF and Planet Connections winning once. Joan has an MFA in Directing from The New School, an MS in Museum Education from Bank Street College and is a member of The New York Madness Company, the Dramatists Guild, the League of Professional Theatre Women and the Society of Stage Directors & Choreographers.

Alanna Dachille (Dianne)- is thrilled and honored to be in “Snake,” and a part of Schreiber Shorts 2016! This is Alanna’s debut in a T. Schreiber production. Graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Alanna has also studied at T. Schreiber with Peter Jenson as well as others outside of the studio. She has gone on to perform in various short films, plays and musical theatre productions. Alanna can be next seen in a new web series entitled “The Circle,” presented by BBR Productions. Dylan Goodwin (Thomas)- After working in sound for film and television for nearly seven years, Dylan Goodwin is excited to make his jump from behind the camera to the stage in his first production in New York City.  He first appeared on this stage as Austin in a scene from Sam Shepherd’s True West to showcase his work after finishing the Six Week Conservatory here at the Terry Schreiber Studio.  Dylan also completed a course at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in 2012.  During Film School at Virginia Commonwealth University, Dylan took a stage performance class that sparked the interest and landed him several roles in the ensemble drama The Laramie Project.  Dylan wishes to thank his family and friends for their constant love and support, Bob Verlaque, Sally Dunn, and the T. Schreiber team for providing a warm and welcoming environment to grow and learn.
