Kids and Teens Acting Classes

2021 Virtual Winter Program

Technique Tool for the Young Actor

January 9 – March 20, 2021  (no class Jan 16)
Saturdays (10 Sessions/20 hours)

Kids (ages 8-12) LEVEL 1:    10:00am –  12:00pm

The session culminates in a final virtual showcase of their work for friends and family.

  • Sharpen acting skills and create their own characters through improvisational games and scenes.
  • Develop the tools needed to become a successful young actor.
  • Understand how to stop thinking and start acting freely.
  • Gain confidence in their actor instincts and choices.
  • Develop and present their own scenes and characters for a final virtual showcase.

Instructor: Shoshana Canali of Denise Simon Acting & Coaching

Shoshana Canali is an actor, director, and acting coach based out of New York City. With a BFA in Acting from Webster Conservatory, Shoshana has performed both regionally and in New York City premieres. She has taught young professionals with Denise Simon Acting and Coaching, Actors Connection, Barbizon, and more.

T. Schreiber Studio has partnered with Denise Simon Acting & Coaching to teach young performers the skills to create truthful and effective performances for stage, film, and television. Acting develops communication skills that will prove invaluable beyond the classroom, helping your young actor nurture their confidence and grow their talent while having fun.

This semester starts with Improv… the #1 skill for young kids and teens in the industry. Meet your teacher Shoshana as she explains the reasons why Improv is so important, what students really learn from Improv and how acting teachers love to use improv as ways to sneak in the learning of bigger acting concepts.

Q&A’s

  • Acting classes take place on Saturdays for 2 hours and starting times vary depending on age group. See below for more information and starting dates.
  • You can join us for a full-year acting program, or enroll by semester. Each semester focuses on a different subject.
  • Booking for the year is the best way to guarantee a spot in the class and get a discounted rate each semester. Taking the full year curriculum creates consistency of building skills and honing technique.

We have so many working young actors, booking commercial, film & television work. Breakout star and Emmy nominee Julia Garner (featured in the hit series of Ozark, Maniac, The Americans, Waco, and more) originally joined us at T. Schreiber Studio as a teen to overcome her shyness. Her work with instructor Pamela Scott gave her the skills and confidence to audition and land these coveted roles. She still works with Pam today!

PER SEMESTER: $595

Our Kid & Teen acting classes are a great way to introduce them to the wonderful world of acting, while building confidence and nurturing skills in taking direction, collaboration, and working as part of a team.

The goal is for students to develop a strong acting foundation through improvisation, character development and scene work. Students learn to follow performance instincts, take direction, collaborate, and work as part of a team. Focus placed on the skills to successfully audition and land the job.

The best part? All our classes are limited to small groups to allow for individualized instruction and feedback.
